GOOD EVENING FAY: Angela Here its 8am (Thursday) just preparing for work, this poem needs a Woman\'s touch. There is a great truth here that \"Our outer appearance reflects our inner Peace, or lack of it!\" Physiotherapy invigorates the Inner Woman : Beauty Therapy enhances the outer. We need both! I know Ladies have the edge when it comes to makeovers. My parents are both in their 60\'s and My Mum is like a chameleon and always looks the part, Wedding, Funeral or Night out with the Girls. However hard he tries my Papa always manages to look like a Spanish Wine Merchant! Personally I always take good care of myself INSIDE & OUT two of the many reasons BRIAN loves me. He\'s the same! Thanks take good care of yourself. love ANGELA XXXX

This is a great philosophy for living in later life. Thank you for sharing. Slightly on topic, I remember a line from a play I was once in ...\"Age is an awesome thing. It is the one true mirror that reflects the vanity of youth!\"

AWESOME FAY ~ Us lesser Poets had a spate of SHAPE-POEMS a few Months ago. All simple ~ all geometric ~ squares ~ diamonds ~ diabloes ~ triangles etc. We were very PROUD ~ BUT THIS IS A BL* * DY TREE ~ HOW ? I promise we won\'t even try to emulate !
It complements the Ode which is all about the vulnerability of trees against:
STORMS ~ portentous
LIGHTNING ~ frightening
THUNDER ~ numbing
LOURING MAUVE ~ awesome

The roots weep
the Tree shudders
The Tree tumbles & dies

TREES are not like ANIMALS ~ who can run & hide from the Storm (so can we !). TREES are rooted to the spot and have to face the Storm and other vicissitudes of life and some alas do not survive. When we have big storms and trees are uprooted ~ I take the students to photograph the exposed the root system to understand why some Trees (PEOPLE) survive and other Trees (PEOPLE) do not ~ it\'s all about ROOTS ! There is a moral in your Tall Tree Story ! Thanks for sharing ~ love the visual and the poem ~ Yours BRIAN & ANGELA

Struck once again by your poetic pyrotechnics here.
Thunder storms are wonderful but why do they seem rare in the daytime ... or is it my memory?
Love the way you create urgency with short lines.

GOOD EVENING AUNT FAY! Loved your Poem and advice about success in marriage. Loved the Poem and the responses and I have taken note of what Brian said and your response. I liked your Mantra and applied it to my profession. \"Physiotherapy never fails - People fail on Physiotherapy\" . Well would you do some of the things we tell our Clients to do 20 times a day! Brian makes Science an excuse for being so analytical. The first time we met I could see him making mental notes, if he had of gotten his FILOFAX out, that would have been it. We are too much in Love for it to ever end and the 11,500 miles between us seems insignificant! Back to the Poem and its message. My attitude to Love & Life is also influenced by my profession. As a Physio I work with a client and with my \"Black Art\" and the clients cooperation I seek out what & where the problems lie, it is very SUBJECTIVE. I then, with the client, work out a \"Plan of Action\" (no rules) to overcome the problems and restore holisitc equilibrium (homeostasis). Physiotherapy is Holistic and Subjective, it \"abhors rules\". This is also my approach to Love & Life. Brian\'s is OBJECTIVE! Because of this we perfectly complement each other in a Mystical & Spiritual Way, so we have a perfect union. Your poem has opened \"Loves Box\" Love it - Love You too, ANGELA XXXX

HI FAY (Agony Aunt ?) Thanks for a very important Poem directed to those whose Marriages are subject to fluctuations due to unpreparedness ~ weak choices ~ bias & mistrust ! It also contains a warning ~ LOVE ABHORS RULES ~ to those (like Angela & I) contemplating marriage (2020 ?). I\'m a Scientist so I tend to be a little \"analytical\" in Life & Love which is why I am still single @ 35. V 1. I see so many \"Young Marriages\" ending in Divorce. V 2. So many \"Incompatible Marriages\" struggling on. V 3. There is a \"better way\" letting \"True Love\" flow and throwing away the RULE BOOK ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Yours as always ~ BRIAN. I have spoken to ANGELA in NZ (its 8:30 am Tuesday) ~ her first Clinic is 1pm. She likes your poem and will comment separately ! Thanks B !

Love, that wonderful mystery prize for you know not where it will take you nor where it is to be found.
It will take you, shake you and sadly often break you but will never ever slake you when it comes to wanting more.
\"yet love abhors rules
which tritely reject best intentions of trying again\" oh so cleverly put together.

Fine write Fay. Marriage is something that one should not enter into lighty. For some it is not taken as a vow. Only as something that will last if everything goes smoothly. We all know nothing worth keeping is easy.

I agree with the others. Descriptive beautiful recall of working mines. We have abandoned coal mines here too. This was dangerous work and unhealthy environments for those who rode the tracks and mined the coal. Lovely remembrance Fay!

I have trod some of those tracks over a number of years visiting your lovely county. Those engine houses partially ruined are full of the spirit of past industry. Our heritage. My family name comes from the area around Penzance in the far west. The engine house in your picture is reminiscent of one close to St Just where there are what appear to be ruined stables close by.
Yes, easily imagined childrens calls and play around such places.
Thank you for taking me back there with your delightful writing today.

A fine write Fay. I remember a very old notice from a workplace. it included: \'Working hours will be 7am to 6pm. Lunch is 30 mins, but work will then on no account cease\'. And: \'A rota for the coal is drawn up to keep the fire in the office going through winter!\'
