I had somewhat of a hobby growing up. There were bullies in our school, as there are in most, but I got my fun from beating up the bullies. Afterwards I would often sit and talk to them to find out if something was going on at home. I became friends with several of them. When they were feeling frustrated with stuff they knew they could tussle with me and there\'d be no hard feelings after we both calmed back down. And the smaller and chubby kids didn\'t get bullied by them any more. Although there were a couple that I didn\'t get to be friends with so we\'d end up fighting after each time they decided to bully someone again. But I figure, you win some, you lose some. Great piece of nostalgic memories Ms Fay!

Fay - how sad that this is in the human genes unless taught otherwise........ and that we have a leader (ha ha) who flaunts this as a role model........

THANKS FOR HILITING FAY ! Boys (and increasingly Girls) have always indulged in BULLYING those Younger and sadly Children with Disabilities ~ I always thanked GOD I have an older (2 years) Brother and lots of male Cousins. I am pleased to say I have never bullied anyone or been part of a GANG that bullied ~ especially being in the Scouts at an early age ~ which is always opposed to BULLYING at any level ! Loved the Cartoon & the Poem ~ thanks for caring. Please check my Poem & FUSION ~ both on Flowers ~ Yours BRIAN

Now if Freud were to read this he may conject that your pigtailed childhood teasers who, understandably, all died in quietly mysterious circumstance are the target for todays piece.
May they rest in peace. Dues paid.

Good write Fay, those bullies are all cowards at heart and will all get their comeuppance.

Oh the shame of it! In a church youth group, I read of a former member who went on to get nicked for stealing computers! A \'nominal\' Christian, as they say. We never know if people are Baptised or Confirmed for real (I trust most are) or if they are just choosing to be \'done\' as a performance.

A fine write Fay. I had horrid first year at secondary school. No one escaped the initiation of being pushed in the school holly bush - and worse. Mental intimidation..
I had lovely innocent primary school days, and a Christian headmaster and wife, who also taught there.
A local school was built, but the headmaster did not want me to leave - so I didn\'t move schools. A lovely appreciation.

Thanks for sharing & caring FAY ! We get very upset when a Friend or Family are injured or killed in a road accident but give scant concern for the hundreds of Animals & Birds who die of SPEED everyday not to mention millions of INSECTS. We cry not for the ANIMAL but the fact that our Bumper is damaged ~ have you ever hit a SHEEP ? Foxes are exceedingly beautiful but are hunted (still) and considered worthless and vermin ! I always drive slower and more careful in the countryside especially at night ! If I see \"road kill\" I always stop and move it respectfully to the verge ! Your poem reminded me of Pam Ayres ~ \"All I see is HEDGEHOGS ~ squashed & dead & flat !\" Yours as always ~ BRIAN

Sadly i have been that driver and its a sickening event.
But too i remember one early frosty morning in the cotswolds our taxi driver stopped dead and we were all delighted to see mother fox cross the road ahead of us followed by her five beautiful cubs. Now there\'s a memory which will stay with me, as do the memories of those i sadly killed.

A fine and sad write Fay. I moved a dead fox once. It was embarrassing though. I was in the country and took it into a pub and asked if they could bury it. Erm, it was a bit pongy by then!
I at least move a dead animal to the side of the road, so that it\'s not awfully squashed repeatedly, even though it\'s dead.

My dear Fay,
An exquisite verse!
You’re an incredible poetess!
This has touched every fiber of my being due to a very personal experience of long ago! (I’ve often called them my missing years.) A once in a lifetime experience!

This quote sums it up
for me...

“She knew only
once close romance of a life-time
therefore memory’s
pearl she now wears with a smile.”
