Well FAY ~ let me say first of all how much I love your HOUR GLASS FIGURE ~ Form poems are not created on a whim ! All poetry enhances and does allow us (and hopefully our Readers) to slip outside reality. In a sense the absurdity of this poem ~ from so respected a poet ~ has reminded me that my last two poems have been too noir and too self~indulgent ! I have already promised CS that tomorrow\'s will strike a lighter note and will not be about MANCHESTER and the atrocity. So in its own sweet way your HGF Ode has re-ignited my m(f)use ! Thanks ~ Yours BRIAN

Thanks FAY ~ this is an amazing poem musing on the murmurings of the Stream. The birds and other animals (who are totally dependent on the stream !) catch whispers of their forbears in its ripples ! These sounds we ignore when we could learn so so much of our progenitors ~ who too depended on the stream for its life giving waters and fish and watercress etc ~ than perhaps we do ! I visit Friends in rural Mexico who get their water directly from the stream through a pipe. We always boil it of course ! Carmelita & Her Family will resonate with your poem ~ Her family have relied on that stream for generations ! Yours B.

A GIVEN DAY ! Thanks for sharing FAY a Perfect Poem and a Pristine Picture. I love dialects and the West Country seeps from every line ! While some Days (especially in SPRING !) are more \"GIVEN\" than others ~ every Day is special and a unique \"Gift from God\" for us to enjoy CARPE DIEM ! Yours BRIAN

A fine write. Erm, someone somewhere did an \'alternative\' version, starting with: \'Those pesky ****** wood-pigoens cooing woke me up; where\'s me gun\'?! oohhh terrible.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh FAY ~ I love this pom ~ You are so so romantic ! This really is a Tone Poem and your skill with words created each sound for me perfectly ! Cooing ~ word buzz ~ tidal ebb & flow ~ bees ~ rail rock & roll ~ grandfather clock tick tock ~ kettle sizzle ~ woodfire crackle ~ birdwing swish and nocturnal wind murmuring through the trees ~ Beautiful. BUT (and I agree) all eclipsed by the love murmurings of one\'s loved one asleep on one\'s breast ~ Perfection. You are lovely ~ Yours B..
