The Tree of Wisdom
Huzaidi Hashim said:
The poem is dissected to reveal it's meanings!
The tree of Wisdom - symbolizes the strength our unity
The tree of wisdom summons - Our unity demands our attention
... The souls of victors dead - it calls for the hero within us
Stand forth above the commons - to come out of the crowd
As we soar thru’ mines ahead - to brave thru dangers ahead
Admirals pulling their weight - commanders share responsibility
As the compass sets to shore - a direction to focus on
A journey that can ne’er wait - we must move now
Endless purpose is our chore - because this is a lifetime commitment
Wise are the sages of time - our wise leaders have a dream
Unraveling the secrets of lore - quoting the success of our past
Staging the essence of rhyme - setting the pace to follow
Beckoning the warriors afore - raising our fighting spirits
Time shall not besiege us - won't give up just coz it needs time
As the battle rages on - we will persist even if it is difficult
Dreams shall not abandon us - we will remain resilient
Until our mission is done - until our objectives are met
A school is what we plan - we want to build a school
to start and shall not end - once set up. we will keep it up
To reach the elusive honor - so that our kids will be able to gain
of scholarly stupend - an international top-class education

Dear respected Huzaidi Hashim,
In spite of deepest sorrow
You have penned a beauty
Your poem is excellent really
Rhyme and rhythm are intact
May God bless your dear child
She will soon recover I now pray
Please encourage her greatly
Love her strongly to strengthen
God can do miracles easily
So approaching God is wise
I can only appeal to the Lord
But, prayer will bring cure.
Yours prayerfully,
mvvenkataraman

The author's explanatory note makes this piece so much more special, for the bride's heart indeed would suffer greatly (it seems to ignorant/inexperienced me) when her husband must be absent. La, but she has a lot of suffering to bear and she is bearing it bravely and beautifully it appears to me. I hope their separation may somehow not seem as long as it is and that it may not be very long. This is beautiful. She writes well. The imagery in the S1 one is poignant, powerful and superb in indicating the loss.

I am sure she will, just give her love, space and time. That will ensure her own pace to find herself again. And never despair, 'cause we all see that the truth lies inside ourselves.
Please send her a note from me, I hope she finds what she dreams and hopes above all, that she enjoys herself, for who she is, we are all precious.
Best
Dolphine.

Thank you for the very helpful author's note. Oh, how sweet and poignant this is! May she recover from the horrendous cruel solution to cancer and bounce back shortly! It is precious because of the love that is cheering the wearied racer to hang in there. Sweet. I like it.

No use regretting now! (a song written by my late father)

Thank you very much for taking the time to translate it for those of us (like me) who are not bilingual. Excellent reminder with the usual wisdom that "all that glitters is NOT gold", and if only we might wisely heed to think farther than the present passionate moment to the inevitable unknown future we'd well be saved some grief. I liked it.

Memories of Love Lost

Your sensitivity allows you to feel into the deeper meanings of my words. The prison refers to the perpetual state of being in love which make it ever more painful, especially when the person you love can no longer reciprocate for reasons beyond our control!

Dolphine29 said:
It has made me smile, but also gave me a deep thought. We do paint our own picture to reflect how we feel deep inside in our lives and to be able to enjoy. But while is so true, we can choose the colors; we need to see the different colors, all of them in order to have a true piece … a whole. Well that is my humble opinion.
Either way I really liked your poem :)

Very deep. I want to say that .. I think in way we never really loose anything or anyone, inside ourselves it becomes part of us and we exist forever even if we change, what is inside our feelings is still part of us and always will be.
