I love the way this reads, the way it trips off the tongue and I love the fact you articulate a need that I think many of us both want and need.... nicely poemed DA....N

A super lovely poem, cool and sensational. The lyrical refrain gives it a fine song like touch. Kudos for the poetry.

Those \'bolt holes\' are so important in our lives. While I was looking after Joyce my \'bolt hole\' was writing words - now it seems to be croquet!

I\'ve got my own bolt hole - a studio remote from the house where I can listen to real music with the fire on and paint to my hearts content in a \'Strictly-Come-Dncing freee zone\' - heaven.

Great words d a.

Back in my teens I used to go to a church and very soon realised that many of the people went there so they could be \'seen to be going to church\' nothing to do with belief.

BRIAN HERE (FROM NZ 11am MONDAY !) We did have a Problem especially on a Tuesay for MUMS & TOTS (best attended Service of the week over 100 !) Only Parking for about 20 cars and a busy ROAD. Behind the Church was a Tennis Court ( belonging to a Neighbour) overgrown & never used ! We made an offer (£35k) which was accepted built a Car Park for 50 more cars (£65k) We raised the £100k (we dont have to Pay our Leadership Team) and our Parking Problem has been solved. Our membership has increased (to 100+) because we have good parking ! People used to walk to Church 100 years ago so many older Churches were built without Car Parks and still dont have them ! Posh people have to be reminded that \"God does not look on the outer trappings but on the HEART ~ AMEN

Blessings to YOU & YOURS
Yours B & A 💙🧡💙🧡💙

We have a 12th century church in the village. I can\'t say those who attend are \'posh\' but they are very possesive - there\'s only a few and woe betide if you open the gate and sit in one of their enclosed pews.

Great poem, d a! There are days when all of us who are in a relationship dream of Mr Freedom, even if it is only for a few hours!

Shriek
Goldfinch60 said:

That second stanza is so powerful, gone are the days of the fishermen of old bringing home the catch.

We were walking along a beach once and saw two gulls go to a bag on the beach, the owners were swimming in the sea, pull out a bag of breadsticks and eat the lot.

Wow - -- never knew gulls could shout for entrails - a great surprise ending for this intriguingly clever write - - love the powerful flow of the piece - - shall think of your words dear dusk the next time I walk round the harbour and hear the birds shriek.
