It\'s a great little statement, dusk - paints a pretty accurate picture, from my experience and observation.
However I\'d vote for live and let live, unless their belief and/or activity interferes with me in some way........

You capture the same habits that have dominated religion for centuries with this clever ensemble of ritual gatherings - bravo my friend for outing the reasons for many who attend these on-going Sundays.

Wonderful dear poet
The way you described the holy ritual of every weekend
Though it lands only in letters and misses sometimes in spirit

I\'m sure it\'s not everyone though. Some may go just as a \'Club\', to meet friends, etc!
I\'m not giving to rebuild a Church Centre that\'s not even 60 years old. Some have committed 11 years of financial giving to it. Gasp! (not a \'proper\' big church with steeple).
I can\'t even give to Branson now. I gotta give it to this church. Doh!

When I went to church in my younger days in the last century I came to realise that many went to church just to be SEEN going to church.

I relate so well with your words
as a child, I was a sickly kid
and had to watch from the window
as other\'s enjoyed
their freedom of painless, breadth
PE classes
where seating was my only, contribution..
and so, I know how low
that bass tone of melancholy in your poetry hovers,
but I love the way, you still wax lyrical about that Nature
waiting, for when next you\'re well enough to visit
with the patience of a knowing, old friend..
a great write Dusk! judged that subtle emotiveness in your wording, wonderfully

.. Enjoyed just as much this time round as it was when originally aired ..

Has it really been two years .. blimey, where did that time go ...

I haven\'t checked back but I have no doubt that my previous comment was no less positive than I hope this one is .. and for what its worth, I think that the hallmark of a good if not great poetic work is its longevity and this particular one of yours, certainly stands the test of time ... Neville
