This is so bloomin well structured and fits the page which frames it perfectly ...

and then of course .. after the aesthetics .. we come to the content itself which leaves the reader in no doubt about the depth and range of feeling/s that served to inspire this smashin bit o poetry ....

this has got the ache I used to recognise in the faces of folk I used to meet when I worked in the Midlands .... landlocked for miles n miles because of geography .... I understand precisely what you mean ....

and should you ever find yourself down this way once all this Covid thing is behind us ... I would be happy to treat you to a pint of your choosing down by the very edge of it ......

D.A.,

Ah the sea...
the wonderful sea.
I miss walking along the amazing beaches of Sardinia myself...so peaceful and tranquil.
In due time youā€™ll once again be by your special placeā€”the sea.

All the best to you.

Am highly honoured D.A.that my few words brought from your pen this moving confession to the call of an ocean --- the sea air has so many health benefits and when time is ready I can imagine you there viewing its humbling presence just as I try to do come what may.

As I said on Fay\'s poem the sea is such a special place to be beside it brings calmness within us and absolute wonder whether it is calm or rough.
One day you will be there meditating in peacefulness.

Oh the sorrow in these few lines - the loss of the feel of being loved in return is familiar dear friend and as I read every word my own heart began bleeding. This will reside in my favoured list.

This is so sad .. I have known many poets who write along similar lines and ... who have oft resurrected good uns at regular intervals ..

much like the proverbial but also very real cyclic SAD seasonal affective disorder ...

Hope you have a FAB weekend DA

lies to kill for
L. B. Mek said:

I think the human failings within All Religious establishments (not merely Christianity) have contributed to the worst horrors in humanity\'s history.
Even after the reformation, those same establishments choose to prioritise their power vacuums over the easily manipulated - uninformed minds of our society, instead of ridding their hierarchy\'s from the same hypocrisy their orthodox Dogma\'s were written to prevent.
At the same time, the bleak hollowness of existence exhumed from all faith - in anything, has had a big role in the degradation of collective morality within society.
So yes by all means, let us all write and bare naked the failings and trappings within zealot or blind faith, but please: remember to allow each other the space to have faith in something - as long it does not interfere with our personal way of life directly... Because not all of us have the strength to face some of the bleak aspects within existence without believing in something, that can give our lives a little meaning - however unscientific or far-fetched it may seem to the all-knowing eyes we so easily judge other\'s by...

This is not just a poem .. this is actually an exceptional piece of well worded literature in the guise of a poem ...

Not long ago.. you would have been burnt as a heretic ...

and I would have willingly stood by your side ...

Religion is a disease, responsible for more deaths and suffering than any of its peers .....

Yes so true D.A. - faith in dogma can poison forgiveness -- your powerful words outline the need for spirituality to take central stage now and for world-wide religious organisations to end their control.

Yes, I agree, \'religion\' is the cause of many troubles. I don\'t mean true Christianity, though that of course is one religion.
There are even Biblical wars, and both sides saying, \'God is on our side\'.

So very true d a, we both know that organised religion is like politics and the organisers are only in it for their own benefit, yet we both have our own \'god\' in our lives.

crossroads
Neville said:

there can\'t be many places where there are so many choices on top of the four most obvious once than at a crossroads ..

even the word itself conjures up the idea of possibilities ahead and the necessity to make decisions of one kind or another...

of course, nothing happens in isolation, so at various points, or times in life, we arrive, like you say at a crossroads ... with inevitable consequences regardless of which way we proceed ...

this is one to think on and should, like its namesake .. be treated with respect ...
