\'becalmed beyond escape

wonderful imagery and penned with a tone hinting of both regret and acceptance simultaneously,
for some reason the image of the final scenes in The Godfather films comes to me after reading your words - seating alone in that garden, contemplating their mistakes and \'time\'s thieving hand\', both Vito and eventually - inevitably: Michael, his heir and youngest son

Dear dusk my whole heart goes out to you in knowing the pain of a brother now gone. As your words do let all know a whole world within your brother has passed on. To be remembered by those who knew him, until reunited in glory.
Dude I wish I could give you a hug. I would cry with you if given the chance. Respectfully Don

Beautiful, imbued with the warmth that only \'being in love\' can bestow, although my favourite part is in the author\'s comment section:
\'... but I know what love is for it has journeyed with me, romanced me, and pleasured my existence along the way to here\'

\'until i may one day
follow,
take with you the love
of lost childhood
the joy of sunlit mischief
of creative yearning
and toil and sweat
and blood spilled
upon the play of life\'
this is beautifully worded, it tugs at raw cinders of emotion we all have buried deep - deep within,
personally I have always yearned for a brother - the longing is so palpable I\'m certain in another life I must have had one or two that I had a tight bond with,
(although I still wouldn\'t swap the family I was blessed with for anything),
a moving dedication of exemplary emotive writing!

I have three brothers, all like me getting up there in their 60\'s. Your little musings made me cry. Do you know Anne Carson\'s \"book\" Nox? It is an elegy to her late brother in the form of a scrap-book collage-poem-scroll thing that is not quite a book, based on Catullus\' \"Ave atque vale\" to his own brother.

Your poem brought Nox to mind in the wonderful painful way that such a thoughtful work will do. Whatever makes sadness beautiful, you nailed it. So to speak.

Yes, it can get boring. Then we may become common-place, forgetting simple things - social distancing, washing hands, etc.

I second your outcry D.A. about being bored by continual media attention to C19 when other issues are being ignored -- -- many like me have given up watching or reading the news until sanity appears again.

A moving write and may the fields of green serve to teach the human race that the land upon which we live is far more importanrt than all the moment-in-time wars which are of little or no consequence in the overall scheme of things.

\'For each bears a name, a soul departed.
Young men from far away brought here
full of life to become pawns in a conflict.
To fight a war beyond their understanding
and pay a price beyond my understanding.\'
these lines capture the bewildering irrationality that underlines my deep frustration at the necessity, yet equally: deplorable reasoning for the existence of the word \'soldier\',
movingly insightful write
