Fear of Haiku

Good Evening NEVILLE ~ Its not the HAIKU or SENRYU or TANKAS (5 7 5 7 7) Im scared of ~ in fact they can be good fun and long Poems are not appreciated on MSN ! What scares ME is that even on a freewheelin* - easy goin* - come-day go-day SITE like MPS there are Purists ~ WHO if you lable a POEM a HAIKU (5 7 5 & about Nature & Seasons etc ?) or a SENRYU (5 7 5 about People & emotions etc ?) they will inform you that its either wrong Syllable countwise or Subjectwise etc etc. This can put budding Poets off and they leave MPS and give up Poetry. I notice that much Published Poetry in Languages other than English dont follow the 5 7 5 syllabus rule so it seems like a *Free for All* out there ~ thanks for sharin* & carin*

Peace & Joy to You & Yours
Yours BR IAN & ANGELA !

No it cannot go with you and it can be left behind but that\'s just money, the best thing that you must be remembered for though is your love for friends and family - that will always be treasured.

Life is a series of changes. All things are in motion, uncontrollably. Love can grow or fade depending on how life and people change. The pain is a product of Love\'s depth. All love is not the same, some feel it more deeply than others. Your poem stages the \"suffering\" felt by one who loved intensely. No one went wrong. It\'s just one of life\'s changes, but it still hurts. _ Phil A.

My Father died in 1995 but he is still with me and always will be as yours will be with you. Our lives were moulded by our father\'s influence and you would not be the good person you are without that influence.
You are still your father\'s son.

A young man\'s question is asked here i believe. For a matured man is already fitting into places, hearts and minds where he is irreplaceable.

I think you penned this to tease us into a wonderful train of though about life and living. Full marks sir!

Neville,

Love the title and the message of your poem.
The first time I saw the word ‘Biro’ was in high school in a required reading assignment.
Very interesting.
