We here in the US agree that it is time to get back to normal life. I was very impressed with the pomp and circumstance. I like your poem, too!

God save the queen. Oh too late. I too did like her and her image. Nevertheless, royalty does seem a little old fashioned. Don\'t know for sure but she seemed a better option than Charles, who came here a few years ago to play polo.

The old conform or be deformed is why there had been a period of anti-establishmentarianism which of late has lapsed into an almost mindless conformity. Perhaps tomorrow the sun shall shine differently. Thanks for sharing.

Did like her maj, but this really is getting on a bit. Sad that Charlie has to start work at 73. Sign of the times, I suppose.

The old mouse was a bit of a nightmare, but must admit, the built-in ones still do my box in. Probably why computer screens get broken a lot.

The bits that make up the bytes vs the bits that make up my brain cells-
They have been racing at an exponential rate, but in opposing direction, while from time to time a cell ignites.

You need an expert for this.
Grab any three-year-old, and they\'ll show you all the shortcuts. Maybe ask their parents first though. lol

Epitaph for a PC

Oh dear. This is why we migrated from 7 to MacOs all those years ago. It\'s simpler and sleeker, granted minus bells and whistles but truly a saner way without hells and hassles. Our cry is there for the independent group of techies to put together a people\'s computer outside of the big three (however many they may really be) and allow us all to get on with it.

I have not reached a compromise with my (ex)PC and no longer have any use for one, or mice for that matter! There are other devices that drive one less barmy. And that is where I have made my peace with technology. If they keep up the tenets of (1) plug and play, (2) user friendly, then I\'m all in.

I remember Iron Lungs (used to scare me half to hell) and Polio Camps (Summer Camps for the afflicted) Did great things, I remember getting my Polio shot, I was in the Navy then, and now I just laugh at the fools who refuse to cooperate. How many lives were wasted?
Your poem or PSA (Public Service announcement) I hope reaches a few resisters. Thanks for trying to help. - Phil A.

Fringe is right, I think Phil. Grateful that now I can use Google and email with (relative) ease. However there\'s a whole lot of peripheral stuff I still keep on bumping into - your apps a good example. And what the hell is Edge and One Drive and.... And the fast talking buggers on utube have left me behind after the first two sentences... However I do make the odd small gain - which was what this piece was about really.

With every new invention there is a learning curve. The more complicated the invention the longer is the learning curve. A computer is one of the most complicated inventions ever, so don\'t feel bad, you are not alone. Oh, and just wait until they harness \"Quantum Computing.\"
Your poem expresses the frustration many people feel when confronted with a computer. It does not come with instructions and even if it did you would not read them. If some day you finally master it, remember there are hundreds of thousands of Apps you can add to it for further confusion. People of a certain age, like me, we just have to accept that we have been passed by and we live, now, only on the fringe of technology. And, thus, it shall remain.
I will quit now. Thanks for rankling my gripe nerve. - Phil A.

Gosh, D.D. It\'s a known fact that a new computer is like a new girlfriend (you know, the one that\'s taking up so much of your time that the wife is getting suspicious). Just hang in there and you\'ll eventually learn the ins and outs and will fully understand it, just like a woman.
We\'ve all been there. My last time was a disaster.
Your poem made me chuckle, more than my computer ever did for me. LOL - Phil A.

Let everybody be what they gotta be, believe what they gotta believe, and live like they gotta live. As long as they don\'t interfere with anyone else\'s life. Amen, I say. My humble opinion: every religion starts out emphasizing Love, but they all end up in a quest for Power. - whew! Now I feel better.
So, DD these four lines (5 with the option) say a lot. Freedom of choice is a very principled ideology.
If lived by everyone, there would be no hatred, and that\'s a good thing. However, some tend to worship Power and lose their morality along with their faith. Well-spoken DD. - Phil A.
