I connected on so many levels to your words, dear Poet
and they made me recall a song
by Wyclef, titled \'Gone till November\'
and the lyrics, begin:
\'I dedicate this record the carnival to all you brothers takin\' long trips
Down south, Virginia, Baltimore all round the world

And your girl gets this message that you ain\'t comin\' back
She sittin\' back in her room, da lights is off
She\'s cryin\', and then my voice comes in pow
And in the middle of the night and this is what I tell her for you

Every time I make a run, girl you turn around and cry
I ask myself why, oh why?
See you must understand I can\'t work a nine to five
So I\'ll be gone till November

Said I\'ll be gone till November, I\'ll be gone till November\'..
(I\'m sorry if I\'ve completely
missed your intensions or meaning
for Your, poem
with my self-indulgent, interpretation..)

Oh wow. this is heartbreaking and probably written form something that happened in real life. In which case, you have honored and dignified the loss of the child that is gone. Thanks, Paul, for sharing. /Rik.

What interesting wrong number conversations you have Paul! The second someone hears my voice he/she says \'Sorry wrong number\' and immediately dumps me.

I remember when i was very active in a dating agency before it was all online. Dumping was an adventure especially when you got the dates/people mixed up in your mind. Switching to a second identity was fun too, amazing how many times you met the same people again... but thats a whole lot of other stories and dodging handbags.

The Song
Bella Shepard said:

I read your poem and then I just sit, trying to take in the enormity of what you\'ve written. Of how life can become so unbearable that in the moment it is truly untenable. To get past that moment is the struggle, from where does the strength come? Such a wonderful piece.

The Song
Rocky Lagou said:

Wow this is quite dark. But actually so revealing. I feel so many feel like their playing \"russian roulette\" with life, whether it be literally or metaphorically. Quite desolate but I sense hope.

The Song
L. B. Mek said:

(Playing
at Destiny\'s: Russian roulettes
with our choices
removed form the wars
all around us
yet making battles of our lives
we look-on, judge
as if we ain\'t got stains
in those corners of our
ravenous, mouths
and scars, sculpting
engraving: envy, hate and jealousy
in our once
hope fuelled, hearts...)
\'The song plays in his head
The barrel spins, click
He wouldn’t die
The rope shook, but he wouldn’t die
He unloaded the magazine into his head
He done the decent thing
The song played in his head
The barrel spins, click
Images started to appear
He wouldn’t sleep
The house was the fortress now
The song played in his head
The barrel spins, click
The long rope hung in the air
He watched him walk away, smiling, inviting him
Destiny
The song played in his head\'..
(a brilliant, deep dive
dear visionary Poet
poetry, imbuing
that reflection of destiny\'s shadow
we see, glimmer
in those corners of our, weary eyes
recognising
shadows, of past
and dark clouds, of tomorrows
best
before, we\'ve even brushed
our teeth
in our, undiscovered todays...)
f\'ck negative mindsets
and #trending
nihilistic, posing routines
people
just got too much Time, to waste
as they watch
their neighbours, cough for breath..

I am blessed to never have had to deal with domestic violence in 57 years of marriage. Your depiction of the problem is chilling but I\'m afraid not to far off the mark (if at all). Very good work, Paul

Two Men.
L. B. Mek said:

I know, this is reality
but
for the life of me
whether it be my friends or strangers
I can never fathom, why
they can\'t just walk away
before
they start, anything new...
I don\'t get it
nowadays
with 5 min divorce courts
and 5 second, wedding halls
why?
bother to cheat..
and for those not even married;
seriously?
you got twice the chance of dumping
your significant other
to go for another and then
try and get them back
than, cheating
getting caught
or making
an unwanted, \'mistake\' child
and trying
to salvage something of your own
completely, unnecessary
mess...
\'Waiting for the inevitable to happen
And it will.\'
hell yeah, it will, always!
so why do it?
for the risqué, fun factor?
getting high
on the taboo of it all?
what?
I just don\'t get it, truly!
(sorry for my rant
this is a genuine thing for me
and when I find it as some laboured plots,
over used - \'twist\', in a book
I just stop reading
cos, really
I don\'t get it, not in modernity
when we\'re an App\'s
thumb flick or clicked, tick
from connecting
with 3 billion potential partners
what\'s all the cloak-n-dagger
for?)
just do you
respect your partner, enough
to say goodbye
and deal
with your shitty choices or risk taking
prowess
\'fck all the other BS..\'
just so, elaborate and pathetic
