This is His Call (A Song, to the rhythm of “This is A Call” by Foo Fighters, one of Taylor Hawkins’ favourite Foo Fighters songs, For Taylor
Bella Shepard said:

I just saw on the news this morning that he had passed, how very sad and at just 50. Being of the older persuasion I am, sadly not familiar with the Foo Fighters, however listening to this song and hearing his percussion, it must still be reverberating throughout the universe. The photo speaks volumes of how much he must have loved what he did. What a wonderful homage to an artist gone before his time.

Cardboard Tombstone

Such a wonderful nostalgic poem. I love the allusion of a cardboard tombstone, putting to rest a part of your life always well remembered, and now looking to the future. I wish you joy wherever that future takes you!

It can be hard when you move but the home that you have built in that house will be there for you in your new house Ben, that will not change.

His Ghost in the Fog
Bella Shepard said:

Powerful, difficult to read as we realize the reality of today\'s world. People we love become strangers to us and to themselves, and the struggle to regain a life affects all who touch it

I can relate on so many levels. I live with a family member with dementia. It\'s very difficult. I favorited your poem not just on subject but I loved the cadence and the rhyme. Awesome job!

This was crafted and shaped to perfection. I mean really this was so good. I can relate as well as I think most families could, there\'s no such thing as a \"normal family\" so this will really reach a lot of people. I love the line \"as, I, and we, are him.\" It\'s so true, we\'re all, despite the chaos, still connected by a bond that just can\'t be broken so easily: it\'s family. Very well done!

I love the conversation you have with your feet, it really brings this poem to life. I put in my 4 miles a day, but you could probably walk circles around me. Kudos to you and your feet for such an engaging read.

What a lovely poem! Especially after these years of COVID it is heartwarming to read such a wonderful tribute to family preparation and eating of a meal. And afterwards just to rest in the company of those we love.

I Don\'t Like Tea Drinkers
Goldfinch60 said:

Fine words Ben and so true Ben but I no longer have to sit around at work drinking tea or coffee and discussing the ways and wherefores of work.
In my retirement I can just sit here writing and listening to music with a cup of fine Kenya tea nearby to sup with absolute pleasure for total enjoyment in my life, and it is real tea, no teabags in the house at all.

I hope all is well with you.

Wow this was so smart! The comparison between the last bit of tea and the tea drinkers themselves. Clever one! I love the message as it\'s very true. The ones who hold power in these workforces are often corrupt and careless people. Wisdom to these tea drinkers! 💖😅

The Joke
Rocky Lagou said:

Very nice poem! I felt the message you were conveying and you expressed it with a shrewd mindset. We\'re too often overlooking our current situations and disregarding it as unimportant and I feel like you expressed that with the \"joke\" that\'s being passed on. We need to pass that stage and accept the reality, even if it\'s \"some aching truth.\" Well done! 💖✨
