This poem hits hard and it needs to. A reminder on what we are told never again. And yet I fear and fear very much, it could happen again. Sadly history is horrific and lessons are often not learned and history has a way of repeating itself. A tough read Neville.

Wow! Your poem...wow! Powerful, my friend. We must never forget and, let\'s hope, we\'re never doomed to repeat that awful history again. 😬 Well done on this, Neville!

A poignant write N. If it is as PL says, we have to agree that the death penalty was only fair for such unspeakable monsters, e.g. the 1946 trials. A bit ghoulish, but there are photos of them online - to prove they are dead, I suppose.

Neville this poem is darker than burnt bread. Ashes to ashes dust to dust but emotions don\'t burn. A difficult read and speaks in metaphor and the literal to to many decedents of the past and gives warning to present generations to change our diet. Lovely Neville

If this is what i think it refers to, it is incredibly sad , emotional and something very close to me, the most horrific time in modern history, I applaud you for writing this as it should never be forgotten,

I give up on figuring out this tidy little riddle against some leading character in a drama and state which owns presidents, fascinated by your rendering, though. Tendered beautifully with excellent imagery and a keenly haunting poignancy, thank you for sharing.

Well, well, lemme see whether I understood correctly... weary with all the miniature howling, the wind proved a veritable friend and took you off elsewhere, eh? After that, what with the notice of an alibi added to the fray, I\'m uncertain how to think, you rascal you. Gorgeously rendered with nigh exquisite imagery and an eerily haunting poignancy, we thanks thee very much for sharing, left to chew on it all like some piece of leather.

Years ago I had hero leaders that I admired. Washington, Lincoln, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, on and on but as I got to know the lives of each I found a balance just as bad as the good. Now I wonder if somehow in the murderer\'s and rapists I have known if there is something as good that balances that bad. Time will tell. I worry about a rash and impulsive man with too much power. It has happened before with bad consequences for many. I hope that history will tell us something different than what the present seems.

An east wind, that of destruction, or so it is believed from Bible to present comes. You paint such a picture of devastation and need yet how easily we are diverted from help. Now the question that remains in my mind is that that gust that blows us away while working on our alibis, was that a wind of diversion or one of destruction. Either way this poem draws attention to the fact that we go through our lives not paying attention to the destruction around us. Very nice Neville

What a satisfying and positive outcome here Neville. Corporal B was a right mean bar steward. You though, deserved all the cheers and salutes you got from your mates. Did you ever see the 1965 version of The Hill? When I read your poem, my
mind drifted to that film, it also drifted to events earlier this week, well covered in the media. I smiled at your account of his car being wired up. Naughty, but very nicely done.

A great story in poem format Neville. As a child from 6 to 12 was bullied by a neighbor. Until finally fought him in front of a school crowd and lost. But following this he came to me and asked to be my friend, He came to me for help with homework through high school. The standing up not the winning seems to be the issue in this poem as well. Although not at all the same the standing up is the key to how one feels about themselves and that is to me the key. When you feel good about yourself others will follow. A poem of raw openness
