Purposely lacking clear definition or a narrative
designed for our eyes to make out
the patterns that only we can uncover
from the chaotic mess it all resembles
at first glance.
Our lives, too
often appear to be a chaotic pattern of reactionary choices and mistaken actions
but I wonder
when that all-knowing universe or mother Gaia
look upon us, do we appear like those messy paintings
from within which they too, glean
the meaning and worth we imbue
into each breath, striving to define
