Very good, Brian! I like these deconstructed Haiku very much. Yes we need to eat healthier as an American nation and stop with the supplements--agreed! More water and fruits and veggies! Great job! Hugs--Christina

A wonderful bouquet of my favorite scents. Well put together, will look for the other half tomorrow! Wherever I live I simply must have lilac. Glad you included that in your poem. Floral hugs-Christina

Been in the garden all morning trimming ivy, cutting grass, hoeing, feeding pot plants - now aching a bit and soon off to the garden centre to get some bedding plants. Very apt posting.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD ~ DECONSTRUCTED HAIKU
Goldfinch60 said:
Sorry Brian but I am a bit of a pedant where Haiku are concerned. I believe that they SHOULD be 5-7-5 and that Haiku are specifically about the seasons or nature. The other 5-7-5 format is called senryu which relate to emotion.
As you know my poetry does not generally follow any rules but strangely haiku and senryu I believe should be written in they way and for the subjects they were meant.
Below are one each of my Haiku and Senryu.
Haiku
A single snowflake
Falls gently onto the grass
Unique hexagon
Senryu
Their love was so strong,
The strength of their love was lost,
Love became despair.

Not so sure about water
Why do folk drink water?
Water’s such a tasteless drink.
I much prefer coffee.
Do I qualify for the sword?

Very important nutritional facts Brian. I love water, most of all. Salads and fruits are the best thing ever. So sorry about the list, though. Maybe bribe the Samurai with Saki? :)

Just beautiful! I haven\'t seen the sunrise lately but I promise I will see it soon! Our sunsets are prettier as they fall over the water. Sunrises are beautiful accompanied by the symphonies of the birds singing. Great job! Hugs-Christina

PRAYER FOR GOD\'S BLESSING ~ EVERY DAY ~ A 6 6 2 Sonnet
swingline said:
I swing my feet out of bed and I pray to God . That way everyday starts out on a high note . Then right atter coffee I read a chapter or two of the Bible and a commentary and I feel no matter what I\'ve made my day . I almost became a teacher but decided I didn\'t have the grit and guts and selfish sacrifice it takes to make a good teacher . And it pains me , gut wrenching it is , to see the cuts in funding for education . Because you then get rulers who know nothing proclaiming they and they alone can fix everything .
