The Art of Being Calm
Goldfinch60 said:

Being calm is the way I react to many situations as reacting in an oppressing way can create even more disharmony. Showing apathy can be a wonderful weapon Ben.

Hope all is well with you as it is with me.

So much truth in this piece friend,
Though I disagree with Christianity blaming and shaming, we don\'t do that, well those of us that are true Christians don\'t, granted that there are many that do, our job is just to share God\'s word and not to pressure anyone to anything, we all have free will and choice,
Great piece here friend, šŸ‘ šŸ‘

Where there\'s a will, there\'s a way, and it\'s unfortunate when the bad guys find it. I commiserate with you on this one. Here in the US a two week manhunt was just concluded when authorities tracked down a convicted murder who had escaped from a county prison in Philadelphia. This guy was extremely dangerous and armed, and communities were on high alert with him the loose. Police ended up using thermal heat technology from an aircraft to finally locate him, and a U.S. Border Patrol tactical unit dog fwas able to pin him down. This guy was extremely dangerous and armed, and communities were on high alert while he was on the loose with him the loose. Guess this would be the time to beef up security, after the horse has left the barn. Good write!

Hat-Man!
Bella Shepard said:

I tip my cap to Hat-Man, and his beautiful Fedoras. Perhaps people feel a little threatened by someone who does not fit the common mold, or who bucks the conformity that was instilled in us from childhood. Without the nonconformists it would be a very dull, boring, colorless world. Great Write!

Gutter Words
Bella Shepard said:

There have been voices that have cried out in the past, and we haven\'t heard. There are voices that cry out in the present, and we do not hear. Somewhere along the way we lost the ability to actually listen, and perhaps, if we had we might be better off. I don\'t know where to look for consolation these days. Perhaps we all just hold hands and take a leap of faith together.

So much of the knew phraseology these days is not in tune with these aged ears, and I must rely on those your age to clarify. I do however agree with you as to the state of a world where truth seems to be a relic of the past, and to trust, you must keep your guard up. Great write, keep your finger on the pulse!

Bleeding in My Room
Bella Shepard said:

Intrusive thoughts come out of nowhere, when you least expect. I find that the eyes of age have helped me gain perspective, and a touch of wisdom in understanding the difficult family relationships that plagued my younger self. I know those thoughts will pop up from time to time, it\'s inevitible. But when they do, I know who I am now, and they can\'t make me feel bad any more, I accept that they are part of me and I can go on. This is such a powerful theme dear friend, one that strikes at the heart of our vulnerabilities, such a brave and thoughtful write.

I read this and as I read I was reminded of my youth, the child of alcoholics who sometimes physically beat but more often emotionally beat down. I was reminded of the human frailty, the fact that we\'re all fallible. Due to the realizations, we can move forward either through suppression (not recommended) or through recognition. Very well written and so thought provoking!

Dear friend, another arrow to the heart. I think Putin\'s KGB background perhaps helped set the stage for who he is today. He knows only force to achieve what he wants, and if he can\'t get it, he destroys it. He will fall, as all dictators eventually do, but how many are yet to suffer from him before that happens. In the meantime his own country will continue to suffer as well. Good write!

Once again you hit on a very problematic scenario, small busines in decline. I remember, when I was young, many moons ago, we would buy from the mom & pop store on the corner. They died out when the era of the mega stores and huge shopping malls was ushered in. Now we contend with Amazon and any number of other online retailers, who keep people in their homes and on the computer to shop. It was so much nicer actually going into a store and conversing with the person behind the counter, whom you came to know , and who treated you well. We can\'t seem to get enough stuff, and get it as fast as possible. I share your lament my friend, but at least I rcan say that I remember the good old days. Very timely and very well written.

I\'m gonna sing \' Things can only get better...\' When? we may ask, or ask in some cases.
Bit like \'Now a new (so-called) comedy show on telly\'. I reply: \'Where?\' When?\' and: \'Laugh? I never even started!\' lol.
Comedy was good on telly up to, oh, about 1975 generally. Doh!
