Fewer reminders remain but the television brings it into the home in a surreal way, never before possible. Distanced from death that is separated by plastic, it feels distant. Your poem evokes many buried images of past horrors and atrocities of war, not so distant. I loved your most poetic title and last line \"our skies are red with blood\" and instead of just watching it passively on TV as if it were a sunset, we need to do something to prevent it. I too find it so sad that here in modern times we still have not learned to put down our weapons and live in peaceful times. Seems like man will not be satisfied until the whole planet is a smoldering rock of dead corpses. Disheartening? Yes, so very much so. But written so very well Teddy.
