The third stanza hit me the hardest.
The entire poem is masterful. It brings loneliness and grief, a missed someone, to its greatest height. Throughout your poem many tender moments are reproduced. The reader watches as one struggles with grief through loneliness of a departed lover. Very, very sad. - Phil A.

You express the feeling of profound emptiness so tangibly in this poem, as everything you encounter is a sad reminder. So beautifully written dear friend.!

Grief is so personal and experienced so differently by each individual. It never goes away. But the joy of better times is a balm for it. After more than eight years, I still miss my wife. But joy does grow our of grief and the love we had for each other. Your poem- Well done.

I am slow to come to realizations but it became apparent in this poem that your poetry is not just from the metaphor or image and symbolism but from the emotion evoked woven into the images and metaphors tying them together and weaving them into a single tapestry. Most beautiful in its sad forlornness.

If writing in \"Word,\" just highlight the entire poem and select the centered justified format.
I think I knew Art once, a former neighbor who sat out on his patio and never mowed his lawn, just drank a lot of beer and listened to his music.
A very fine description of poetry. - Phil A.

A most mournful poem that strikes to the heart. Have felt this way and been there. As I have always maintained, anything that strikes the heart in any way is poetry. Lovely
