You always hit to the heart Fay. Bad enough to be a widow older but can\'t imagine how the young can handle it, especially because of a war death. Don\'t know how they make sense of it. I myself am an \"Alzheimer\'s\" widow who lives somewhere between him living and dying. It\'s a most other worldly place to be.

Wonderful write Fay, those who go to sea are so brave.
Shanties are very meaningful if you listen to them properly.

Ah, yes...in peril of the Sea!
Respect! It’s all about respect...my great grandfather’s words!
My great grandfather, a fisherman from Naples, was all about having respect for the Sea!
As per my mom, his mantra was “YOU HAVE RESPECT FOR THE SEA AND THE SEA WILL SERVE YOU WELL”!

Enjoyed the read my dear Fay. Thank you for sharing!

Brrrrrr how could you write such a warm inviting nay, encouraging encounter with the dawn on such a cold and frosty occasion. I know you are in our southernmost county but the chill even without the frost is biting.
You must have a very warm spirit to pen these wonderful pieces. A pleasure to read.

Meditating on dreams

With only me two brain cells\'.Doh!
Erm, this does not have quite the same ring as your poem! lol.

Huddling, snuggling to keep warm these winter nights its quite easy to selfishly forget those wonderful creatures we like to think we adore with our mental picture of their appearance in warmer times. How clever they are to survive these chill to the bone frozen solid times to thrll us tomorrow.
I read you as reminding us to do a few helpful things without intruding. Wonderfully written piece quite deserving of being a favourite all round.

Really like your \'fun\' poem, Fay! I think that sometimes dogs are smarter than us, who wants to run around in the cold if one could sit all comfy in front of that roaring fire!

Thanks FAY for another seamless fusion of Poem \'n Pic ! Your choice of WORDS ~ SIMILE & METAPHOR is so so perfect ~ further comment would be superfluous ! The high standard of each of your poems ~ in content ~ rhythm and ofttimes rhyme is both a challenge and a benchmarh to us lesser poets ~ you are a GEM ~ Thanks for sharing ~ Yours as always BRIAN
