Kudos to you for standing up for the fungi. Great imagery and imagination in this one. I\'ll never take a mushroom for granted again, but stop and have a chat.

I got two things out of this write, firstly I believe if it is alive then why can\'t it feel in some way. Secondly I got a sense this could be an off beat description of us scrambling around in the world, and the chlorophyll is needed to put us back to sleep. However it is meant to be it certainly is an interesting and entertaining read

What on earth?! You\'re downright hilarious and cleverly suggestive in a trice, the very idea laughable. Good grief! I love, love, love it!!! Gorgeously rendered with excellent imagery and a delicious poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

This is wonderfully unsettling, with the pairing of “crab eye stalks” and “fancy koi out of water” turns the humble fungi into strange, half‑animal seekers. I could almost feel the damp mulch and that blind, urgent reach for nourishment. The way you render their fragility makes the scene oddly tender as well as alien. It lingers like the smell of rain on soil.

This may have more meaning to me than most. I believe that all life forms have feelings, maybe not as you and I, but in their own way. I respect each piece of grass and weed, the microbes and the fungi they belong here as much as well just distant relatives. A wonderful read that may seem absurd to some but not to me. A fave

Tell me about it! I literally got ID\'d for buying a trippy mushroom T-shirt that said \"Great Dayz Ahead\"...ooh the psychedelic horror! 🍄😱 Mean while, kids are walking around with 20 proof mouthwash in their hands. \'Merica! 🤦♂️ Leave the fungi alone! 🤣 That aside out of the way, my dear friend Neville, you’ve made the fungi writhe with such strange, vivid life here…oddly tender yet a little unsettling too (the only way to have it, lol). That blend of humor and unease is perfection in my book. Great poem. A fave from this fungi lover. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️

Thanks for the reminder and always a pleasure to see you are still flowing well.

David Gilmour was hitting the first notes of Sorrow when I started reading the poem. Well, it was magical the undercurrent of loss in the midst of vibrant picture. Apologies, I may have missed the point entirely; just wrote whatever came to mind - unfiltered.

I frankly prefer the former than the latter since I\'ve long maintained my love and affection are mine to give whether or not they are returned in due fashion. How simply rendered yet with a curiously deft exquisite sense haunting, superb imagery and a charming poignancy romancing it. Thank you so very much for sharing. I love it.

Remarking on A Flight of Fancy

So much within these words, love. life, wisdom. remembrance....And more, I\'m sure. I read it as remembering a romance that was less than serious, and gaining a spoken wisdom, which is being recalled by one now older and wiser. Birds as a metaphor for love is true in the sense of flight and its hazards. We soar only to crash and die. Loved it. - Phil A.

Sweetly done. No, why embellish? A local history piece needs some bare facts, unless there\'s a tale or two to go with it. But, we can\'t re-write history, so you\'ve told it like it is. I loved it. - Phil A.

Neville, you’ve given this piece the feel of a guided walk through time...ayering history, place, and pride in a way that makes the Sweet Track feel both ancient and immediate. I like how you balance the factual with a touch of storytelling warmth, turning heritage into something the reader can stand upon. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛ A fave from me, mate. And a whole lot of cheers: 🍻🥂

Neville, there’s more weight in this than the title lets on, mate! The imagery lands wonderfully…wings not just for soaring, but for burning. And invoking Icarus feels earned...not a warning, but a truth we keep learning the hard way. Beautiful work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Your poem carries a mournful wisdom, gently cautioning against hubris while also recognising the inevitable allure of flight. It\'s a quiet elegy for the dreamers, and a mirror for anyone who\'s tried to defy gravity long enough to understand what holds us down.
